Let's just say that in the past 700 miles or so I've realized that it's harder and harder to find people who really get the basics of driving. I'm not one to be riding someones ass the entire way over a hill because they're in the fast lane. But my biggest problem is that people just get selfish and think only about themselves instead of realizing that you'll probably have to deal with the person you just cut off/forced to slam on their brakes for the next few (if not hundred or more) miles. It really doesn't take much to coordinate efforts to make sure that everybody will end up at their destination quickly.
Portland was gorgeous, although I wish I had more time to spend there. I had a great time at the block party with Craig. It's not often enough that I go out for an evening like that and really by the end of the night feel like it was something that I could easily do. Just makes me realize that I need a good partner in crime to go out and have fun like that more often.
I only got to see
I swear I'll do the friends meme that is working it's way around by the end of the trip...Figure I'll add a few more people to the list before I do it.
Once i got up to Seattle I ended up putting around for awhile because I had some time to kill before I met up with the friends I'm staying with. I went out to Alki. Sadly, the first time I was out there was when I came up here for my graduation. But, it was nice to walk around for awhile and soak in the sights for awhile, including the 3 cruise ships in dock (which I'd never see while I was in school, heh).
Did dinner at Wasabi, and then ended up at
Plans for the day? Um, get my car washed. As for the rest of the day, I dunno. Any ideas anyone?

Anyway, that's my rant about selfish drivers. Glad to hear that you're having fun on your trip! Jon and I should be in the San Francisco area around New Years...hopefully we'll see you then!

I have detachable skates, so there's always Castro Halloween where I could meet up, even if it's evil and in league with the pigs, San Francisco's mediocre-est.

If you're sitting around and have the minutes, call and I'll tell you about the fire in the open space.

Portland is just a not yet annexed part of Washington...at least that's how I've come to think of it.August 23 2005, 05:01:34 UTC 6 years ago

Re: you goofball!
Can't we just annex the maple leaf state, or at least B.C. and everything (is it the only thing?) up to Alaska, and combine the two so we still have an even 50? Then we have to dump LA into the ocean instead of doing that whole state of Jefferson thing out of Northern California.
